Day 51 - Literary Context and I and II Corinthians
Step 1 - Read Acts 18:1-17, watch the video, and ask, “How does Paul’s long tenure in Corinth shape his expectation of the Corinthian’s response to the good news?”
Step 2 - Read I Corinthians 1:18-25 and 15:50-58, watch the video and ask, “How does Paul’s confidence in the resurrection underlie his answers to the Corinthians’ many problems?”
Step 3 - 3. Read II Corinthians 4:1-12 and 5:1-5, watch the video, and ask, “How do Paul’s images in these texts answer his accusers AND call the Corinthians to reconcile with him?”
Step 4 - Pray the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13) and ask: What does it mean for God's will to be done on earth as it is in heaven?
Step 5 - Take one small step in obedience as you continue to walk with God..
Day 52 - Galatians
Step 1 - Read Galatians 1:1-9 and ask, “What work of our Messiah is made void by this different gospels?"
Step 2 - Read Galatians 2:15-21 and 3:21-25, watch the video, and ask, “How can the Messiah’s people be alive to the law today?
Step 3 - Read Galatians 5:13-14 and 5:22-25, rewatch the video, and ask, “How do we live in the freedom God gives his children?
Step 4 - Pray the Lord’s Prayer and ask, “Lord, how can I better hallow (honor) your name?”
Step 5 - Take one small step in obedience as you love God as your Abba (Father).
Day 53 - Romans
Step 1 - Read Romans 1:1-6. What does verse 5 mean? How do you think this letter will help fulfill this call?
Step 2 - Read Romans 3:21-26, watch the video, and ask, “How did God demonstrate his own righteousness and justice in Jesus’ death and resurrection?”
Step 3 - Read Romans 12:1-2, watch the video, and ask, “What does the obedience of faith look like?”
Step 4 - Pray the Lord’s Prayer and ask: “What does it mean for God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven?”
Step 5 - Take one small step in obedience as you continue to walk with God.
Day 54 - Summary
Given the complexity of much we have studies this week, let’s step back to some foundational ideas and see if we can see both the forest and the trees!
Step 1 - Read Romans 15:1-13, and ask, “How is the theme of hope made practical in the Letter to the Romans?” (It’s a difficult question. Puzzle it and press on to the second point!)
Step 2 - Read Romans 15:1-4 closely, watch the video, and ask, “What design theme do we see at work in Paul’s letter to the Romans?”
Step 3 - Read Romans 15:5-9 closely, watch the video, and ask, “How does Pail imagine that we will be generous with those who are not like us?”
Step 4 - Pray the Lord’s Prayer and ask, “Lord, how can I better hallow (honor) your name?”
Step 5 -Take one small step in obedience as you love God as your Abba (Father).
