The Season of Lent

It’s Ash Wednesday to Palm Sunday. It’s feasting and fasting, death and resurrection, prayers for forgiveness and the celebration of God’s faithfulness. Keep your eye on the Save the Date section of these announcements, check the website and the mobile app, watch the Sunday Announcements and Get Involved!  As always, volunteers will be needed so contact Nicole (nicole@gslc.net) to lend a hand.

Ash Wednesday Service Options

Ash Wednesday is on March 2. Attend the 7 PM service in person or watch it via live stream. In addition, Pastor Susan will provide the imposition of ashes, communion, and an Ash Wednesday blessing from 6 AM to 7 AM that morning so that you can wear your ash cross throughout the day.

Lent Soup Suppers Start Next Wednesday, March 9, 5:30-6:30 PM

Come enjoy a soup meal with your family before heading into the Lenten Vespers at 6:30. Please sign up in the hall to host, serve, bring a soup, or bring a desert.

Lent Vespers (Services) Starts March 9 @ 6:30 PM

Lent Vespers will include the Holden Evening Prayer, communion, and scripture. This service runs for about 30 minutes and leads us into Alpha for Us.

Alpha for Us Beginning March 9 @ 7:00 PM

Last November, we watched two previews of the Alpha Program alphausa.org. During the season of Lent, we will dive into the program. This program will teach us how to discuss Christ with our neighbors and family. We will “Explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions such as Who is Jesus? and How can we have faith?”
