The Immanuel Approach For Emotional Healing and For Life
The Immanuel Approach For Emotional Healing and For Life:
Immanuel Approach For Emotional Healing and For Life (also known as Immanuel Approach or Immanuel Prayer) is a Prayer Ministry developed by Dr. Karl Lehman and Dr. E. James Wilder and Dr. Lehman, a board-certified psychiatrist with more than 30 years and 40,000 hours of clinical experience, remains one of the foremost experts regarding this new, exciting approach to life and emotional healing. Immanuel Approach Prayer Ministry is first and foremost a prayer ministry whose primary goal is to assist people in connecting with God as well as helping them to heal as they learn to enjoy being with Him. Immanuel Prayer is not professional counseling, deliverance, or prophetic ministry. When the primary goal of the ministry is achieved and we have successfully helped someone become connected with Jesus our Immanuel, that connection often leads to healing, receiving counsel from Jesus and experiencing deliverance from the enemy, but those are a secondary benefit to being in His presence. Connecting with Jesus in a tangible way always comes first.
Immanuel Prayer is built on the reliability of God's true nature as our Immanuel (Isaiah 7:14). The name Immanuel means “God with us” (Matthew 1:23) therefore, by His very nature, He is always, everywhere personally present with us! In Immanuel Prayer we learn that Jesus, our Immanuel, was with us when we were/are in our worst moments both before and after we were Christians. As the Bible tells us, He will always be with us, for God does not abandon or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6; Joshua 1:5; Hebrews 13:5). Therefore, the goal of Immanuel Prayer is to help people connect personally, not just theoretically, with Jesus who is Immanuel, our God who is present.
The Immanuel Approach to emotional healing
The Immanuel Approach to emotional healing shifts the primary objective from resolving trauma and relieving symptoms to helping the person connect more intimately with Jesus who comes to remove barriers between His heart and ours. One of the primary focuses of the prayer ministry is the removal of any blockages that stand between our hearts and Jesus. A side benefit is the resolution of psychological trauma and the associated symptom relief that come through Jesus’ healing.
Immanuel Approach is organized around turning to Jesus, focusing on Jesus, and engaging directly with Jesus at every point in the session. The session starts with the participant recalling positive memories and their deliberate appreciation of Immanuel who comes to prepare their brain-mind-spirit systems for connecting with our Lord. Immanuel then helps the participant establish a living, interactive connection with Jesus as the foundation for the session.
The Immanuel Approach to life
The Immanuel approach to life includes healing for psychological trauma, but also clearly recognizes that is only one part of God’s agenda for working in our lives. Our Immanuel also wants to build our emotional and spiritual capacity, grow our emotional and spiritual maturity, and Jesus just wants to spend time being with us as a friend.
The Immanuel approach to life uses the tools of Immanuel Prayer to help us connect with the Lord outside of the prayer ministry sessions. The ultimate goal of the Immanuel Approach to life is to help people get to the place where they perceive the Lord’s presence, and abide in an interactive connection with Jesus, as their usual, normal, baseline condition as they walk through life each day.
